JD Genesis – Philadelphia Law Student Panel

Interested in attending law school in Philadelphia? Join us this Sunday, July 12 at 4pm PST for a panel of law students from law schools in and near Philadelphia. We will have an insightful and candid discussion on choosing a law school and thriving. This session pulls back the curtain on the decision-making process, exploring how to weigh school culture, academic programs, and personal “fit” when selecting the right campus. From managing the transition into 1L to building a meaningful support system while balancing life, our panelists will share their law school journey.

🌱 Gabriel Wright is a rising second-year law student at Temple University – James E. Beasley School of Law. A University of Pennsylvania alumnus and Beasley Scholar, Gabe brings experience from a judicial internship with the U.S. District Court to his legal studies. Focused on litigation and transactional law, he is spending his upcoming summers at Fox Chase Cancer Center and competing on Temple’s National Trial Team. Off-campus, you’ll find him welcoming prospective students as an Owl Ambassador tour guide—ask him about his favorite spots in Philly!
🌱 Pilar Gomez is a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. A Florida Gulf Coast University alumna and former Philadelphia Legal Assistance intern, Pilar brings experience from public interest advocacy to her legal career. Focused on litigation, she is spending her upcoming fall joining Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP as a litigation associate in New York City. Off-campus, you’ll find her exploring the city’s food scene and walking her dogs—ask her what she’s currently binge-watching!
🌱 Marissa Harley is a rising third-year law student at Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law. A Temple University alumna and co-founder of the Transactional Law Honors Society, Marissa brings experience from civil rights advocacy and legal aid to her law studies. Focused on transactional law and intellectual property, she is spending her upcoming year serving on the Drexel Law Review Notes Committee. Off-campus, you’ll find her playing the oboe and English horn in local ensembles—ask her about her latest scrapbooking project!
🌱 Dean Millard is a rising second-year law student at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. A magna cum laude Villanova University alumnus and the first Black Student Body President in the university’s history, Dean brings experience from the White House press corps and state government to his legal studies. Focused on litigation, corporate, and investment management, he is spending his upcoming year writing for the Moorad Sports Law Journal and competing on the Scarpa Corporate Negotiation Team. Off-campus, you’ll find him DJing events, modeling in fashion shows or recording his basketball podcast called “Tap In”!
