Johnsenia Brooks

Founder/Executive Director

Originally from the Bronx, NY, Johnsenia (she/her) is a first-generation Honduran American and a third-year law student at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. She earned her undergraduate degree in Government and Psychology with a minor in French from Georgetown University in 2020. In college, Johnsenia was an educator at the Arlington County (VA) jail, where she developed a novel literature curriculum, served as an intake specialist at the local Public Defenders Service, and advocated for exoneration in a wrongful conviction case as a part of her class, “Making an Exoneree.” She produced an award-winning documentary related to this exoneree work. Immediately after college, she worked as a paralegal for the Innocence Project. In 2021, she co-founded an events curation brand and worked alongside artists and DJs to curate social events centered around celebrating the Black diaspora. Johnsenia aims to be the go-to attorney for entertainers in the music industry. When she’s not in class Johnsenia is active in the gym, lifting weights or taking classes at her local boxing studio.

Omega Agee

Creative Director

From West Oakland, California, Omega Agee (she/her) is a first-year law student at UC Law San Francisco (formerly Hastings). She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Science from the illustrious Grambling State University in Louisiana, where she cultivated a passion for both creativity and justice. Post graduation, Omega carved her own path in entrepreneurship, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges new businesses face, especially in protecting their ideas. This experience inspired her to pursue a career in intellectual property law. Creativity has always been a driving force in Omega’s life. Deeply immersed in the arts, from film and photography to writing, she lives by the mantra: “Capture and create the moment.” Her creative spirit has led her to collaborate with various nonprofits, including the Black Clover Foundation, Friendship Development Corporation, and the Borehole Project, where she’s contributed her skills to impactful community initiatives. Outside of school and creative work, Omega enjoys Lagree fitness, kickboxing, and reading.

Michael John

Grants Director

Originally from Boston, MA (he/him), Michael John, is a second-year law student at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.. He holds an MSc from the London School of Economics, and BA, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to law school he worked in the philanthropic sector supporting foundations and nonprofit leaders in refining their strategic priorities. At the Bridgespan Group, Michael worked with the executives leading organizations focused on workforce development, criminal justice, and racial justice in communities across the country. At a peer organization, Social Finance, Michael served as a project manager for a permanent supportive housing initiative in partnership with the United Way of Anchorage Alaska, while also developing avenues to direct philanthropic capital to rural job training programs. Michael is a historian that is passionate about the Caribbean, particularly as it relates to Marxist organizing during the 1950s. In his free time he plays the steel pan, and serves as a volunteer judge for high school policy debate tournaments. 

Jasmine Lewis

Mentorship Director

Jasmine is a third-year law student at Stanford Law School with a passion for issues at the intersection of law and technology. She holds a B.A. from the University of Miami and a MSc from the London School of Economics. Originally from the Chicago suburbs, she came to law school with a background in tech and social justice policy. That foundation continues to shape her work, especially in the area of data privacy. Last year, Jasmine interned at the California Attorney General’s office as a Privacy Intern, and spent this past summer interning as a legal privacy intern at Airbnb. Outside of law, Jasmine enjoys mentoring prospective law students, reading, seeing live music, taking daily walks, and watching NBA basketball. 

Sunnie Wang

LSAT Prep Director

Sunnie Wang is a first-year law student at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, but spent the majority of her childhood in the Bay Area. She is a first-generation Chinese American. She earned her undergraduate degree in Law, History, and Culture with a minor in Communications, Policy, and Law from the University of Southern California. In college, Sunnie interned for Congresswoman Anna G. Eshoo, Mayor Karen Bass, Geragos & Geragos, and the Know Your Rights Camp. She also worked part-time as a nanny and retail worker. During her time at USC, she also served as the President of Phi Alpha Delta and the Vice President of Delta Gamma.  During her gap years, Sunnie was a nanny and LSAT tutor. She also volunteered as an Advocate with Court Appointed Special Advocates. When she’s not in class, Sunnie enjoys trying new recipes and exploring new parts of Chicago.

Aisha V. Sanwal

Partnerships Director

Aisha is a second-year law student at the University of San Francisco School of Law. She is President of the South Asian Law Student Association, an Albert Schweitzer Fellow, and a recipient of the Executive Leadership Council’s Ann Fudge Scholarship. As the daughter of immigrant parents, Aisha is deeply committed to empowering marginalized communities and with over one hundred hours of pro bono work, she was recognized by the Bar Association of San Francisco as a 2024 Outstanding Volunteer in Public Service. Prior to law school, Aisha graduated from Fordham University, earning a B.S. in Finance and Political Science. She worked at several industry-leading firms including PricewaterhouseCoopers and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton where she incorporated inclusivity and service into the workplace. Her professional prowess coupled with her desire to do good inspire her pursuit of a career at the intersection of law, business, and social impact, where she hopes to drive meaningful change for underserved communities.

Keerit Gill

Internship Director/Volunteer Coordinator

Keerit is a legal assistant at Stealth Legal PC, a boutique tech-focused law firm, where she supports client operations and writes on privacy law, AI regulation, and technology transactions. She is a current law school applicant driven by a deep commitment to criminal justice reform, and the intersection of law and technology. A self-taught developer, Keerit built KHIVI, an AI-powered health intelligence platform, and HermesAI, reflecting her belief that technology should be a tool for empowerment. She also writes Aletheia, a Substack exploring the intersections of philosophy, technology, and culture. Keerit brings a non-traditional path to the JD Genesis board — one rooted in resilience, community, and a conviction that the legal profession must reflect the people it serves.
