JD Genesis – NYC Law Student Panel

Interested in attending a law school in New York City? Join us on Saturday, April 18 at 11:30 am PST for a panel of law students from across New York City. We will have an insightful and candid discussion on choosing a law school and thriving. This session pulls back the curtain on the decision-making process, exploring how to weigh school culture, academic programs, and personal “fit” when selecting the right campus. From managing the transition into 1L to building a meaningful support system while balancing life, our panelists will share their law school journey.

🌱 Sherell Farmer is a second-year law student and Root-Tilden-Kern Public Interest Scholar at New York University School of Law. A Brooklyn native and Cornell University alumna, Sherell is a dedicated advocate for racial justice. With a background in campus organizing and DEI, she is currently honing her skills in impact litigation and movement lawyering through NYU’s Civil Rights and Criminal Legal Systemic Clinic, Solitary Confinement Project, and the NYU Parole Advocacy Project.

🌱 Sara Juantorena is a first-year law student at Fordham University School of Law. A Wesleyan University graduate with a background in nonprofit development and data strategy, Sara is now pursuing a legal career with a focus on transactional work. At Fordham, she is an active member of the Suspension Representation Project and enjoys playing New York Times games in her downtime.

🌱 Bianca Hayles is a second-year law student at Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. A Queens native and John Jay College (CUNY) alumna, Bianca is the President of both BLSA and the Public Interest Law Students Organization. With experience at the Innocence Project and Salesforce, she is a passionate advocate for criminal justice reform and the founder of the THY Campaign for youth with disabilities. In her downtime, Bianca enjoys exploring tea varieties and scrapbooking.

🌱 Quinn McFeeters is a second-year law student at City University of New York School of Law. Driven by a background in fair housing advocacy, Quinn is pursuing a career in worker-side employment and labor law. This summer, he will serve as a Peggy Browning Fellow at CASA. Outside of law school, ask Quinn about what he’s reading, how Real Betis has been playing, or what open-water swim he’s training for.

🌱 Kiyon Cho, M.Ed is a third-year law student at Brooklyn Law School. The President of Brooklyn Law’s BLSA and a Moot Court competitor, Kiyon focuses on education equity and disability rights. Following graduation and successful clinical work in mediation and civil rights, Kiyon will begin their legal career at The Legal Aid Society.
